Before I became an author, I read several historical fiction / Christian books that were, well, boring to say the least. They had an intriguing premise, but lacked depth.
Fantasy wasn’t much better. They were entertaining, but ultimately missed the mark. Too much romance, too many unbelievable axe-wielding maidens, too many Tolkien clones.
But then I realized, I’ve always been searching for stories that would leave a mark.
Not just something to enjoy for a few hours, but something that would stay with me… press on me… change me.
But most of what I found didn’t go that deep. The stories were good. Inspiring, even. But they softened the edges. They made things easier than they really are.
And the more I read, the more I felt this quiet frustration I couldn’t ignore:
If faith is real… why doesn’t it feel costly here?
Because the God I believe in is not distant. He is present, refining, and holy. But walking with Him has never been easy.
It asks more of you.
It changes you.
It costs something.
So I stopped waiting for someone else to write those stories.
And I started writing the kind that don’t just entertain, but confront, refine, and leave a mark that doesn’t fade.
Because I’m not here to offer escape.
I’m here to create stories that stay with you, the kind that make you wrestle, the kind that make you question, the kind that change you long after the final page.
If that sounds like something you would enjoy, it only gets better from here.
